Lenny can drive his car on his own land without insurance. He can also choose to not own a car. Motor laws are state laws and have nothing to do with the US constitution.

Letter: Health insurance critics are wrong
By: Lenny Tweeden, Fargo
In regard to Herman Winkels’ response to my letter on Dec. 7:I believe I’m required to purchase car insurance to drive my car. Was that done by the Congress and the president or the state of North Dakota? Who is forcing me to buy car insurance and where is that in the constitution? Where is your logic?
so kev refuted lenny’s analogy with his small minded logic? really kev- how many car owners just operate their cars on their own land????
You know I am one of the few who could actually adhere to that silly comparison , as a farmer I do have a pickup that I use primarily ON MY OWN LAND! Yet I do pay for insurance , license etc because I know I will still venture out INTO THE REAL WORLD occassionally!
Cmon Kev grow up ! can you contribute something meaningfull that has implications in the real world we all live in!
I would think any intelligent person making smarmy claims about the ‘constitution’ would realize the automobile was invented about a century after it was written and the founders in their wisdom ( wisdom kev – you should be in awe of it!) had the foresight to allow admendments to deal with the future implications of the document!! I just listened to some idiots who claim the constitution is not a living thing, a document not allowed to evolve or grow as a living thing. If so a black should still be considered a 3/5 the value of a real person! and women should not be able to vote etc etc .
Kev do YOU want live today as the document so stated in 1776 , no cars , no ak-47′s no blacks as citizens , no women in congress? or do you want to live in the real world?
That’s why there’s a process to amend the constitution if needed, Ron.
Motor vehicle laws are a state issue.
Lenny is just looking for a free lunch.
I’ve been with my partner for 27 years. And we can’t marry and get EQUAL benifits under the law that straigt couples get. You call that a Free Lunch?
Sure you can; just marry someone of the opposite sex like everyone else can.
I’ll stick with my partner since 1985. Straight couples define devorce. LOL
Sorry divovse.
