Dennis must have been home sick the day they taught about FDR having all Japanese citizens put in camps until the end of the war.
Letter: Terrorists win when we act out of fearBy Dennis Kooren from Fargo
We have nothing to fear but fear itself has taken on a life of its own from Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s 1933 inaugural speech: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Truer words were never spoken to a nation on edge.
The terrorists are winning when we start doing things out of fear. We need to make the distinction as a nation between operating out of concern and operating out of fear. To force levelheaded leaders who want to take measured approaches into snap judgments is, in my book, operating out of fear. Please do not give in to fear; this is what the terrorists want. They want fear to take on a life of its own. Sit down, take a breath and say to yourself: “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” Truer words were never spoken.
